About Summer Kent

I am a graduate of Indiana University Bloomington striving to create a fulfilling career in health care. Recently I decided to return to my beautiful hometown of Los Angeles, California. Previously, in Bloomington, I was employed at Indiana University Health Hospital as a Patient Care Technician in the Progressive Care Unit. During this experience, I discovered my passion for caring for patients and the fast-paced environment of the medical field. I exhibit a tenacious work ethic and am eager to learn and adapt to different environments. I am open-minded and hope to collaborate with other health care professions to provide optimized care for patients. Upon my return to Los Angeles, I worked as a Medical Assistant/ phlebotomist for an established family medicine physician. There I formed lasting and fulfilling relationships with his patients. I aimed to practice individualized and compassionate patient care. I worked with Dr. Birnstein until he retired in June 2022. Currently, I am working with Dr. Bradley Jabour at the Medical Imaging Center of Southern California on developing an innovative TMS treatment procedure using neuronavigation. With this, we will be able to treat a variety of mental health issues in a non-invasive and effective way. Ultimately, I plan further my education and attend a Physician Assistant graduate program to better help serve the community.
