About Summer Leitch

With more than 15 years of success as a classroom teacher, Department Head, Educational Consultant, and curriculum developer, I bring the experience, dedication and passion required by the high standards of Ontario's education sector. Having taught in a variety of learning environments both locally and abroad, I am strongly positioned to serve the learning needs of Ontario's diverse student body. I am committed to providing authentic, equitable and culturally responsive learning experiences that support the growth of curious and informed global citizens. Several years of leadership experience as a Curriculum Lead and Cultural for Learning consultant, as well as opportunities to work on curriculum review and writing teams, have allowed me to develop advanced pedagogical methods, meaningful assessment and evaluation techniques, and a productive collaborative spirit. Certified by the Ontario College of Teachers in Health and Physical Education (Honours Specialist), English, Dance, ESL (Specialist), Family Studies and Special Education, my diverse qualifications, professional endeavours and life experiences enable me to inspire, motivate and guide a wide array of learners towards the achievement of their individual goals. Furthermore, earning my Junior additional basic qualification, and Part 1 of the Principal’s Qualification Program, I have acquired a strong understanding of the policies, procedures and regulations that govern regional and provincial systems of education. Communication is my passion. I build purposeful professional relationships with my students and their families, my colleagues, and members of my greater community. With broad professional networks, I have a proven record of establishing positive partnerships that bridge the education sector with the general public.
