I pride myself in nursing excellence and am always looking to improve healthcare in any way I can. I strive to create holistic, healing environments by implementing evidence-based practice and compassionate care for all patients. I have a passion for serving underserved communities and pushing to erase the healthcare disparities I come across through my career. My journey as a practicing registered nurse began after obtaining my Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) with honor recognition from National University. Shortly after, was given the opportunity to work at Scripps in their new graduate residency program. At that time, I was able to learn in a magnet-recognized setting, alongside peers and were guided by knowledgeable, experienced nurses. After finishing my residency, I became a float RN at Scripps Memorial and Scripps Green. The floors I have experience on include Medical-Surgical, Oncology, Neuro/Ortho/Stroke/Trauma, Cardiac/Telemetry, Step-down/Progressive Care Unit (PCU). This experience has made me a more adaptable and versatile nurse going forward. While at Scripps I remained involved by becoming a Magnet Champion. A representative that encourages and promotes nursing excellence through our hospital system in order to remain magnet designated. Later in my nursing career, I craved a higher acuity of patients therefore landing me in a position on a general PCU floor at UCSD. I have since transferred to UCSD la jolla’s Orthopedic PCU and now their emergency department. At a certain point in my career, I decided I was ready to go back to school in order to live out my dream of becoming a Nurse Practitioner. I have recently graduated from USD with a dual degree, Doctorate of Nursing Practice: Adult-Gerontology and Family Nurse Practitioner. During my doctoral program I have experienced in rotations including, family/internal medicine, cardiology, aesthetics/weight loss, pediatric orthopedics, orthopedic surgery and sports medicine. I am now looking for a career opportunity to help propel my journey towards being an impactful provider in my community by showcasing my compassion, dedication, and empathy for all who I care for.
