Background
About Summer Yang
I am a recent graduate from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, with a degree in Consumer Behavior and Marketplace Studies and certificates in Entrepreneurship and Sustainability. My career aspirations lie in Market Research and Product Development, where I aim to integrate my passion for sustainability into my future endeavors. My interests and passion have been shaped by my Consumer Behavior and Product Development Strategies classes at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, as well as my own career exploration. I deeply value creating meaningful connections, engaging with diverse communities, and continuously gaining new knowledge about the world. My experiences of being a Sales Associate and a self-employed Private English Tutor both have taught me much about meaningful connections and have contributed to my communication and problem solving skills. My everlasting efforts to learn more about the world have stemmed from participating in the National Student Exchange (NSE), at the University of Hawaii at Manoa (spring of 2023), and my own world travels. Through these experiences, I have continued to develop a worldview and cultural awareness, strengthen my organizational skills, and master the ability to adapt to ever-changing environments which I hope to apply to my future workspaces. As an emerging human ecologist, I am focused on thinking, acting, and making decisions centered around the well-being of others, particularly our consumers. Bringing ideas from economics, psychology, sociology, and anthropology aids my current and future studies. Together, the interconnectedness between people and their natural and built surroundings can be further evaluated. By analyzing their interactions, the needs and wants of the consumers are recognized and solutions are found to make best their relationships and interactions harmonious.
