About Sundar Thakur

Leonardo Da Vinci once said, “I have been impressed with the urgency of doing. Knowing is not enough; we must apply. Being willing is not enough; we must do” My passion and interests seem to have been echoing these words since the times memory takes me back to. “Doing or making” has always been my safe haven. My first working experience with DCS programming as an Engineer in a leading automation company in India and subsequent move as a DCS Proposal Engineer gave me exposure to developing cost-effective designs. In the years that followed I have been working for EPC and Engineering Design Consultants (in India and Oman) carrying out Detailed Design, FEED, Concept Engineering jobs. More than one and a half decades of work experience have given me the opportunity to deliver projects in fields of Oil & Gas (upstream & terminal) and Mineral & Metals. My core competencies encompass design of PAS (DCS, IPS, FGS) and Telecom Systems (CCTV, ACS, FO Networking), participation in assurance reviews like HAZOP, Design Review, IPF, ALARP, Risk Workshop etc. I am conversant with PDO SP, Shell DEP, and international standard specifications. My current responsibility involves leading multi ethnic and inclusive teams to deliver various phases in lifecycle of projects. My current interest revolves around Sustainable Design, Green energy and Carbon Capture & Storage.
