About Sung Yi

Dr. Yi is a Professor Emeritus of Chemical Engineering at Hanyang University in Seoul, Republic of Korea, where he has made significant contributions since 1994. He has held various leadership positions within the university. He serves as a CEO of International Organization for Ceramic Processing (IOCP), Wilmington, DE, and is the Editor-in-Chief of the SCI-indexed Journal of Ceramic Processing Research. Dr. Yi is an accomplished author, having published more than 300+ research papers, mainly in the field of electrochemical engineering. He earned his undergraduate degree in chemical engineering from Hanyang University, a master’s degree from the University of Iowa, and a Ph.D. from Brigham Young University. Additionally, Dr. Yi was a board of directors at Aqua Metals, Inc.(NASDAQ: AQMS), a CTO at Yulho (KOSDAQ: 072770) and a board of directors at Kwangmoo (KOSDAQ: 029480) ensuring a clear understanding of his 30-year research experience in the field of electro-chemical engineering devices such as LIB, PEMFC and water electrolyzer etc. His leadership experience extends to his roles as CEO of Poongwon Chemical, Inc, and founder of NPTech, an innovative company affiliated with Hanyang University that specializes in nanotechnology. In addition to his responsibilities at Hanyang University, Dr. Yi has made his mark as a visiting professor at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore and has served on the board of directors at both the Tech University of Korea and Gyeonggi College of Science and Technology. Also, he has served as an expert committee member of the Korean Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Korean Ministry of SMEs and Startups and as an executive director of The Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology (KIAT).
