About Sunghoon Jin

Started off my study in field of aviation as aircraft maintenance major at Utah State University. 2 year of studying and having hands-on experience provided me with abundant experience about aircrafts. After the years, joined the Korean Air Force. I finished my service as staff sergeant. During my time in the Air Force, I admired the pilots around the base and decided that I want to fly as well. I moved on the The Ohio State University as an Aviation major in 2019 and I finished my flight training to be a Certified Flight Instructor. Intern at National IT industry Promotion Agency (Aug, 2020 - Nov, 2020) During the time of COVID, the university closed for a certain time and I had to return back to my home country. Being unable to continue my flight training, I worked as an intern at Korea's Ministry of SMEs and Startups. I worked with several foreign Start-up companies wanting to settle in Korea. My role was to translate company documents and interpreter at events. Also, promoting sales with pitches with potential customers. Air Defense Artillery Agent at Korea Air Force (Aug, 2017 - July, 2019) I have spent two years of my early twenties working in Korean Air Force. Duties were monitoring and overseeing SAWS and RAWS (Radar Attack and Warning System) radar system. And also as an Air Defense Artillery agent, shooting missiles. Had a lot of opportunities of coming across a lot of different aircrafts at the Air Force Base. Also, dealing with missiles as Air Defense Artillery agent, it really provided me with the fundamental of working in procedures in certain situations. Pilots always require exact procedures in steps in emergency situations. Even if it was Vulcan missile, not aircrafts, I learned a lot on working by procedures in unusual situations. It is a very important skill required for pilots. University Ambassador at Utah State University (Aug, 2016 - May, 2017) I worked as the University Ambassador at Utah State University. I always wanted to help foreign students from different countries to settle in a new environment. So I applied and got the position as International Ambassador. My role was to represent the University as a student and give tours to high school students visiting campus. Also promoting the university by visiting different high schools. In addition to that, if there were some troubles or issues that international students have, I dealt with the issue to help them out.
