About Sungwon Han

As a research scientist with over a decade of experience, I specialize in investigating cellular mechanisms underlying complex diseases, currently focusing on Alzheimer's pathology at UT Southwestern Medical Center. My expertise in biochemical assays, transgenic mouse models, and lysosomal biology enables the exploration of therapeutic pathways and diagnostic tools. Recent efforts include optimizing lysosomal pH sensors and investigating Nicastrin deficiency in Hidradenitis suppurativa models. With a strong foundation in molecular biology and lipid biochemistry, I contribute to advancing therapeutic discovery while fostering collaboration across multidisciplinary teams. By leveraging advanced experimental tools, including transgenic models and nanobody screening, we work toward uncovering novel insights into protein trafficking and cellular signaling in neurodegenerative diseases.
