About Sunil Aryal
I am an academic experienced in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate IT courses related to Programming, Databases, Data Mining and Machine Learning. My research is in the areas of data mining, machine learning and artificial intelligence. I am interested in the application of AI to solve real-world problems in different application domains, particularly in healthcare and cybersecurity. I received a PhD from Monash University specialising in data mining. Prior to joining academia, I worked as a software developer in industry for a number of years. I aim to be a successful academic who value student centred learning and teaching, and excellent research for the benefit of people and society. With my colleague Dr Reda Bouadjenek, I co-lead the Machine Learning for Decision Support Research Group (deakin-mlds.github.io).
