About Sunil Badala

I bring over 27 years of professional experience to the table, with a significant tenure of 24 years at KPMG in India. Currently serving as the National Head of Tax. Throughout my career, I've spearheaded numerous successful projects, specializing in cross-border taxation, structured finance, due diligence, joint ventures, capital structuring, regulatory approvals, and representation before tax and regulatory authorities. My expertise extends to making representations on behalf of industry bodies and clients to the Central Board of Direct Taxes. I've had the privilege of presenting at various KPMG Global and India events, as well as participating in business forums, sharing insights and contributing to industry dialogue. My client portfolio is diverse, encompassing multinational and domestic entities such as banks, stockbrokers, investment banks, insurance and reinsurance companies, NBFCs, investment management firms, and various investment funds, including FII's, mutual funds, venture capital funds, private equity funds, and sovereign funds. My academic qualifications include membership of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, qualification as a Company Secretary, and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Udaipur (Rajasthan), India.
