About Sunil Seshadri

Sunil Seshadri has over 20 years experience leading cybersecurity for large financial services and technology companies, having served as CISO for the world’s largest stock exchange, the world’s largest payment technology company, and one of the world’s largest banks. He is a recognized thought leader in the industry, a regular speaker at leading events, and recipient of multiple awards. Most recently, Sunil served as Chief Information Security Officer at Wells Fargo Bank as part of the company’s technology leadership team and management committee. His primary role was to develop, drive, and implement an enterprise-wide strategic plan to deliver world class protection to the bank, its employees, and its clients in a rapidly evolving threat landscape. Prior to Wells Fargo, Sunil was CISO at Visa Inc. where he was responsible for providing cybersecurity assurance for transaction authorizations of over $10+ trillion per year, protecting over 3.6 billion payment cards and related sensitive information. Previously, he served as CISO at the ICE Group, NYSE, and Archipelago. Sunil has extensive leadership, strategy, technical, operational, and risk management experience. He is a trusted and proven technical leader experienced in designing, building, and operating large-scale, cutting-edge security platforms in high-pressure, high-risk environments. He has successfully built, audited, and led cybersecurity programs comprising identity and access, data protection, product security and engineering, incident response, automation, and compliance initiatives. He has successfully developed high-performing global teams in both start-ups and mature organizations with a focus on diversity and inclusion. As a domain expert, Sunil is actively engaged within the cybersecurity industry to maintain peer group dialog, develop partnerships, share subject matter expertise, and develop industry best practices. He currently serves as a Cybersecurity Advisor to Discover Financial Services, Board Member to Obsidian Security, Advisory Board Member to Aqua Security and Acalvio Technologies, Industry Advisor to Warburg Pincus, and Limited Partner to venture capital firms Greylock and Ballistic Ventures.
