My manager asked me 15 years ago how I would feel about pursuing a career in project management. I said I didn’t see myself in that role because I was not aware of how diverse and challenging the profession is. Today when I look back, I cannot thank him enough for seeding the thought. A year later, I got an opportunity to lead a project in that role’s capacity, which changed my mindset forever. Since then, every day, I learn something new either from my own experiences or from someone else. As they say, “Project Management is a Journey, Not a Destination”.My leadership style is bottom-up. I encourage collaboration, creativity, decision-making, innovation, and shared responsibility among my team. I believe this approach truly brings teams together in great collaboration and leads to the successful delivery of solutions for our business stakeholders. I facilitate and support the professional growth of my team, through mentoring and coaching. I find it not only enhances their individual capabilities but also contributes to the team’s overall strength and resilience.Providing value and satisfaction for my clients and business partners is of utmost importance to me. This has been the catalyst for my desire and commitment to continuous learning. From taking my Series 7 and 66 certification and earning my Masters in Finance to best support 2K+ brokers and their 40K+ clients by understanding their needs and identifying gaps for value-add solutions while working as a Dev Manager, to obtaining my PMP and PMI-ACP certifications in an effort to fine-tune my Project Management and leadership skills, it is all about providing value to my clients. As the relationship with them is what the journey of Project Management is all about.
