About Sunshine Dean

Above all else, I love helping people. From my very first role as a receptionist in a small primary care office 25 years ago, I knew healthcare was where I was meant to make a difference. It's an incredible privilege to walk alongside individuals during some of their most vulnerable moments and ensure their needs are met with compassion and dignity. My deep passion for equitable access to physical and behavioral healthcare led me to the field of nursing. As a nurse, I became especially drawn to the connection between mind and body, which inspired my commitment to integrated healthcare treating the whole person, not just a diagnosis. Over the past 22 years in healthcare, including 17 years in leadership, I’ve transitioned from direct patient care to influencing systems at scale. Today, I serve as an executive leader in integrated care, where I focus on financial strategy, organizational growth, and new service development. Through a servant leadership philosophy, I work to advance health equity, improve outcomes, and transform how communities experience care. I’m a lifelong learner—both formally and through lived experience—continually seeking knowledge to stay ahead in a rapidly evolving industry. Whether it's policy reform, program design, or strategic planning, I bring curiosity, adaptability, and an unwavering commitment to making healthcare better for everyone, at every stage of life.
