About Surahyo Sumarsono

I am an Information Technology and Digital Health specialist with more than 25 years of experience advising governments, international organizations, and leading institutions across Indonesia and the Asia–Pacific region. My work spans Telemedicine, Digital Health transformation, Hospital Information Systems, Smart City development, IT governance, and project management — with a consistent focus on improving systems, strengthening institutions, and delivering practical, scalable solutions for real-world health and public-sector challenges. Throughout my career, I have served in critical technical and advisory roles for organizations such as the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes), Bappenas, ADB, JICA, UNDP, and the Ministry of Communication & Information Technology (Kominfo). I have contributed to national telemedicine regulations, digital health blueprints, smart city masterplans, regulatory sandbox development, hospital information system modernization, and long-term care innovations. These roles have given me broad experience in navigating policy, technology, multi-stakeholder coordination, and large-scale digital transformation programs. In the healthcare sector, I have worked extensively on Telemedicine Indonesia (Temenin), KOMEN, SATUSEHAT-related initiatives, community-based long-term care systems, and the modernization of HIS/SIMRS across various hospitals, including RS PTN Universitas Lampung and JIH Hospital Yogyakarta. My academic engagements with Universitas Gadjah Mada, Universitas Airlangga, and other institutions further strengthen my ability to translate complex technical concepts into practical capacity-building for students, professionals, and government teams. I am passionate about the intersection of policy, technology, and human-centered innovation. Whether designing enterprise architectures, evaluating digital health systems, advising on AI readiness, or strengthening governance frameworks, my goal is to help organizations make informed, strategic decisions that improve public services and enhance health outcomes. I enjoy working at the frontier where digital systems meet societal impact — especially in areas that benefit underserved communities. I continue to serve as a consultant, advisor, trainer, and lecturer, combining hands-on technical expertise with long-term strategic thinking. With a background that bridges engineering, public health, and digital transformation, I bring a holistic, cross-disciplinary approach to every project I support.
