About Suraj Kumar Jana

In 2014 Suraj founded Opencube Labs(OCL) (http://ocl.space) one of India’s first New Space Technology Research communities. OCL holds a vision of spreading awareness about Space Technology among the youth of the nation through various forums. Now OCL is venturing into Earth Sciences research education technology health care Internet-of-Things(IoT) next-generation data applications along with DIY initiatives. Suraj has been an entrepreneur and a technologist since his high school days. His fields of expertise span from hardcore technology disciplines like Cloud Computing Artificial Intelligence Data Science Blockchain Web Applications to sophisticated consumer industries including Information Technology Services Health Technology Space Technology Transport and Education. He is a team player and comes with great experience in managing teams and communities globally. Suraj is very passionate about citizen science initiatives and social impact projects. He has been a contributor to a couple of open source projects and is currently involved with TrashMap. RHoK India has appointed him as a trustee and head of partnerships. He started Open Data Hack in 2017 a non-profit organisation that works towards solving social environmental and civic problems using open data. His work has been covered by various national and international media organizations which include Times of India NDTV The Sputnik The Better India to name a few. Under his leadership OCL has got national and global recognition. Apart from his active role with OCL and RHoK he is also on advisory board for World Merit India Melange Foundation BMS Educational Trust(BMSET) and medy.ai. His recent achievements include: Awarded as Top 10 Makers in India at MakerMela 2019 TEDx talk at VIT Vellore and incubation at FbStart by Facebook.
