About Suraj Patel

I’ve spent the last 25 years immersed in automotive engineering, leading the design and delivery of complex systems from concept through to production. My focus has always been closures, sealing, and complex exterior systems, and I’ve been fortunate to work across both luxury OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers. At SFC Solutions, I lead a team of over 20 engineers across design and engineering. The role is all about building capability, raising quality standards, and delivering smart, scalable solutions. Over the past year, we’ve secured new projects through strong technical leadership, introduced flush glass sealing into the Indian market, and commercialised our design and simulation services to open up new revenue streams. Before SFC, I spent 20 years at Bentley Motors, leading door and roof system development across multiple platforms, including EVs. I delivered everything from exterior trim, VW Group’s first powered door to cabriolet roof systems while ensuring all my mechatronic systems were ISO 26262 compliant. I worked closely with Audi, Porsche, and VW, delivering six full vehicle lifecycles, managing multi-million euro budgets, and leading high performing engineering teams. What drives me? Solving complex problems, building strong, empowered teams, and aligning technical delivery with what really matters to the business.
