About Susan Chook

I have worked in Special Ed for 8 years and in SPICE 1 self contained for 6 of those years. I’m a believer in teamwork and collaborating with services such as OT, PT, Speech and BCBA’s to give kids the best chance to grow into their best selves and live up to their full potential, living their best lives. This starts with building strong, trusting relationships with students. I find joy in supporting students with autism and other diverse needs using behavior support and identifying early signs of escalation to proactively address and teach students’ strategies for self-regulation. Maintaining a structured approach, I can provide students with the security and consistency they need to thrive, both academically and behaviorally. Staying current on best practices in special education, allows me to provide the highest level of support to students. I find having compassion, a sense of humor and patience are some of my best attributes.
