I review and accept new links about every three months. Stars for our Troops sends Stars from retired American flags around the world. In 2016, over Stars were shared from the Albany, NY area - from over 4500 Flags that are usable. Many people are sending just the blue canton/field of Stars with embroidered Stars that are 2 inches across. Stars for our Troops is dedicated to let those that are serving and those that served in the US Military know that they are Not Forgotten. We share Stars with our first responders as they are always there to help us. If you know someone that is serving currently - they will receive 100 Stars plus a Thank You card with your personal message to that person. Veteran, first responders and organizations can receive Stars after paying a small shipping/handling fee. There are Stars for our Troops Star Makers in almost any State and in Belgium. It is a project done by all ages and all abilities. 20 Boy Scouts have received their Eagle though this project. Stars are being created by cub scouts, seniors at their community centers and living facilities, church groups, schools, fraternal organizations and motorcycle groups. We recommend the process of creating the Stars as a way to get people to talk with each other such as an ice breaker for a retreat, group organization for mental help and for a means of physical therapy. We are funded by donations, the shipping and handling fees for the Stars and are a 501c3 nonprofit organization. All Star Makers are volunteers. Thank You. Susan Wells Stars4ourTroops@aol.com
