About Susan Eandi

I am the Chair of Baker McKenzie's North America Employment & Compensation practice. I also serve on Firm leadership committees, key client relationship committees and actively participate in our Inclusion & Diversity and pro bono initiatives. In my daily practice, I have the opportunity to represent some of the most dynamic and influential U.S-based multinationals, from start-ups to Fortune 500 companies, on both U.S. domestic and international employment law matters. While my industry focus is on technology and software companies, I also advise fashion/retail, health/services and banking/finance companies. A good day for me is when I get to bring my curiosity, creativity and desire to be helpful into my work. I enjoy the challenge of spotting trends, connecting dots and identifying impacts for in-house employment law counsel, then distilling those into actionable guidance. Having the opportunity to "answer the call" and truly help a client or colleague when they need it most is what I strive for. My practice spans global employment Advisory and Transactions matters. I work with companies on employment compliance as they expand into new countries, and I have advised some of the world's largest employers on employment law requirements in over 150 jurisdictions. I also assist multinationals with all aspects of global workforce management - from advising on workforce hiring structures, to developing handbooks, remote work programs and policies, compensation / bonus plans and programs, inclusion & diversity compliance, to assistance with performance management actions, terminations and layoffs. I have advised companies on rightsizing and cost-cutting measures on a global scale, including changing terms and conditions of employment, salary reductions and repurposing workforces, to implementing shutdowns or reductions in force. I also advise on transactions and IPOs. I have provided international employment advice on numerous cross-border mergers & acquisitions, divestitures & spin-offs, tax restructurings and post-acquisition integrations, covering up to as many as 120 jurisdictions. I have advised some of the most globally recognizable brand names on international employment diligence as they have prepared to go public. And, that's just how I spend some of my time. I almost never sleep:)
