About Susan Edgar
Susan Edgar is an experienced educator, having worked across the tertiary education and healthcare sectors for over 30 years in Qld, UK and WA. In 2016 she won a Citation for Outstanding Contributions to Student Learning in the Australian Awards for University Teaching, for implementing and promoting life-long wellness and self-management strategies to enhance the mental health, confidence and emotional wellbeing of physiotherapy students. Susan facilitates Mental Health First Aid Training for physiotherapists and in 2021 co-wrote the Level 1 Mental Health course for Australian physiotherapists. Susan is passionate about reducing suicides in her community and was the WA representative and inaugural chair of the Lived Experience Partnership Group for the National Suicide Prevention Office, supporting the development of the National Suicide Prevention Strategy 2025-2035. Susan currently volunteers weekly for Lifeline WA as a crisis supporter and student mentor for 13 11 14.
