About Susan Gilbert

Susan Gilbert and her husband, Joel, founded Apogee Interactive Inc, one of the nation’s leading providers of digital engagement and online energy analytic software for utilities. In the early '90s, Susan sold her ownership in energy engineering firm A&C Enercom to founded Apogee with a vision of leveraging technology to more effectively deliver useful energy information to consumers. For more than 30 years, she drove the company in delivering best-in-class online energy analysis, data presentment applications and cutting-edge innovations for customers of the Connected Home including Personalized Video Messaging, Daily Home Briefings from Amazon Echo, and Virtual Energy Audits. Through her leadership, the firm, its people and products, are recognized nationally for analytical excellence, cutting-edge innovation, excellence in performance and customer service. Apogee serves hundreds of North American energy utilities and supports thousands of online applications that reach millions of customers. The firm is a Certified Woman Owned Business, is Microsoft Certified, and is APPA's Hometown Connections partner for digital engagement among municipal utilities. The firm's analysis engine achieved the highest RESNET accreditation and is capable of producing a HERS home rating. Corporate headquartered are in Atlanta, Georgia, at Crescent Center. Susan earned her B.S. degree with a major in physics and a minor in math is from the University of Kentucky and her masters in curriculum and instruction from the same institution. She serves on the Smoke Rise Country Club Board of Directors as Board Secretary, writes a feature column "Tech Talk" for the “Smoke Signal” community newspaper, and is active in Smoke Rise Baptist Church where she served as a deacon and currently supports the Finance Committee and manages Discovery Class communication. She also serves as a Trustee of the Developmental Disabilities Ministry. Susan, her husband of 30+ years, Joel, and their son live in the Smoke Rise, just outside Atlanta.
