Degrees/Certifications: ABOC (American Board Opticianry Certified) FNAO (Fellow National Academy of Opticianry, Lifetime Member). Member NYSSO (New York Society of Opticians), The Optician's Association of America, and the Contact Lens Society of America. Attended Hudson Valley Community College< Radiologic Technology School. 1985: Optical Assistant in Dover and Durham NH.(Drs. Alie and Menard) 1986-1988:Optical Assistant Latham, NY Drs. Swartwout and Lazarus Joined FVCC in 1993 as an Optician. 1997: purchased the practice and remain as owner today. My role today is primarily Practice Manager and back-up Optician. I meet with designer frames sales teams and bring in new products quarterly. I create marketing campaigns, engage in community events for non-profits, lead team meetings and recruit future team members. My work has included all aspects of fitting glasses in a variety of settings including schools, hospitals, nursing homes and private businesses. I have worked in installation supervision, design, training, Opticianry and mentoring. In 2014 the practice space underwent a major renovation and we have continued to add the latest and greatest in technology and innovation.(via corneal topographer, OCT and OPTOS) In 2015, we added myopia control services primarily aimed at children in order to treat the myopia epidemic which has only continued to worsen. All of our practicing Doctors are Orthokeratology Certified. In 2020 we celebrated the 100 year anniversary of FVCC with me as it's 3rd owner. Today, I continue to be proud of the boutique dispensary which we have grown and the excellent medical care and treatments we provide for our community. 100 years+!
