About Susan Kirkpatrick

Susan Kirkpatrick serves as Chief Communications Officer for The John R. Oishei Foundation, one of WNY's most comprehensive private foundations, where she handles all aspects of marketing and communications for the Foundation. She is a seasoned communications professional with extensive experience and expertise in public relations, communications, and marketing. She has worked in agency, corporate and nonprofit settings and managed her own communications firm, Kirkpatrick Communications, for over a decade. In her role at the Oishei Foundation, she also provides communications counsel for the Foundation's grantees and develops programs for the local nonprofit community designed to build capacity in communications. Susan's experience includes national, regional, and local work in healthcare, consumer products, service, and retail industries, with a considerable focus on non-profit organizations and philanthropy. She has worked in the Boston, Atlanta, and Western New York markets, providing her with regional and national perspective on communications strategies. Her areas of expertise include overall communications strategy development, media relations/publicity, project management, digital media, writing, event planning and support, reputation and issues management, and crisis communications.
