What do I do?I help people with legal issues in liquor licensing, hospitality and tourism. How can I add value to you or your business?With expertise in both property law and liquor licensing law spanning over 20 years, I am uniquely equipped to help people understand, navigate and overcome legal issues associated with liquor licensing and the development, sale, purchase and leasing of liquor licensed and hospitality premises.I enjoy making the process as simple as possible and achieving solutions that are pragmatic, effective and tailored to my client’s business and needs. I am particularly good at thinking outside the box to achieve a result. What services do I provide?The advice and assistance I can provide includes:• Advising on and preparing liquor licence applications for diverse premises and licence types including liquor stores, taverns, and small bars.• Providing comprehensive advice on all aspects of liquor licensing, including compliance.• Reviewing and appealing liquor licensing decisions at both the Liquor Commission of WA and WA Supreme Court.• Preparing and advising on documents related to the sale and purchase of commercial property and businesses, particularly within the hospitality sector.• Drafting and negotiating contracts of sale, leases, licences, and related documents for clients in the tourism, liquor and hospitality industries.Who do I usually assist?Over the years I have assisted a large range of clients, from leading public companies and private operators, such as Woolworths, Endeavour, Lion Nathan, Hoyts and Venues Live (the operator of Optus Stadium Perth), to small business owners, start-up companies and property developers. Some of my notable accomplishments include:• Successfully securing- a tavern licence for Optus Stadium, Perth’s premier multi-purpose stadium- a tavern licence for Santos & Pecadores, Northbridge’s first Latin-styled bar- a small bar licence for a beach bar on Dirk Hartog Island; and - a producer’s licence for Kommunity Brew for the production and sale of alcoholic Kombucha. • Advising on, and securing, the majority of Dan Murphy’s and BWS liquor stores in Western Australia since 2006.• Assisting Cullens Wines on a variety of liquor licensing issues associated with their winery and product promotions.• Advising major developers and institutional investors on the development of food and beverage precincts at retail centres.
