About Susan Park

I have more than 20 years of professional experience supporting organizations that provide the best available science by engaging end users to improve the sustainability and resilience of our ecosystems and communities. I have wide-ranging expertise in environmental issues, primarily in coastal and marine topics such as marine ecology, aquatic invasive species, fisheries and aquaculture, sea level rise and climate change adaptation, and coastal hazards. I have extensive experience in project and program management, including proposal development, budget and financial management, supervision of staff and volunteers, and program planning and evaluation. I also have experience in writing and editing, research administration, stakeholder engagement, and teaching and mentoring. I believe in continuous monitoring and improvement, and I am always looking for new and innovative ways to enhance the organizations I support. I am passionate about mentoring students in career development, exposing them to the breadth of career pathways available to them, and building their professional and transferable skills, including science communication, outreach, networking, and translation of science to management.I consider diversity, equity, inclusion, justice, accessibility, and belonging as critical to coastal and marine science and management and am dedicated to making CERF and our disciplines more equitable and inclusive.
