About Susan Peterson

I am a Mental Health Counselor for Young Children and Families with the Early Childhood Outpatient program at North Range Behavioral Health. I also have experience as a Family Resource Specialist. I obtained my Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) from Milligan University in Johnson City, Tennessee in April, 2023. During my undergraduate education, I completed 405 cumulative hours of field experience over three semesters. I recorded 135 hours each as a shadowing student with the School Counselor of West Side Elementary School in Elizabethton, Tennessee; an intern at Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Northeast Tennessee; and an intern at Good Samaritan Ministries, Inc. in Johnson City, Tennessee. Following my final internship with Good Samaritan Ministries (GSM), I sought and was offered a temporary part time position as a Social Worker, continuing and adding to my responsibilities during my internship. I got married in the summer of 2023, and my husband and I relocated to Greeley, Colorado shortly thereafter. In September, 2023, I began my current position as a Family Resource Specialist at JusticeWorks. I am currently applying to pursue a Master of Social Work (MSW) to prepare me for licensure as a clinical social worker (LCSW).
