About Susan Shebby

As an executive director of program operations at McREL International, I lead process improvement efforts to strengthen internal communication, collaboration, and operations. With more than 20 years of experience in the education sector as a teacher, evaluator, and technical assistance provider, I have a history of success helping school, district, state, industry, and community partners improve implementation and achieve their desired outcomes. Many of my projects include a focus on student engagement and belonging, mental wellness, STEM, out-of-school learning, and educator preparation. Prior to joining McREL in 2008, I served as a teacher in public, private, and non-governmental schools in California, Paraguay, Mexico, Mongolia, and Thailand. I received an Ed.M. in Education Policy and Management from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and a B.A. in Ecology and Evolution from the University of California at Santa Barbara.
