About Susan Thimons

As an Administrative Professional, I have held different jobs assisting staff at higher education institutions, and now I serve faculty. I am currently the Department of Social Work staff assistant, and I enjoy the academic side of higher education. I manage a student worker and enjoy that aspect of management. I am also a Day-Of Wedding Coordinator at Asbury Seminary. I love working with brides and bringing an outside perspective to planning their big day. This includes going over details to plan the timeline for their day, running rehearsals, executing the timeline of their wedding day, and receptions as well. It also uses many of my organizational skills, people skills, and crisis management. Previously, I was the Staff Assistant at Asbury University's Center for Counseling. I oversaw scheduling clients for 7 counselors, helped supervise practicum students in their administrative tasks, and kept our social network presence current. I worked this job 9 months of the year for 4 years and held this job for 8 months as the department transitioned. For two summers, I was the Administrative Manager for AdventureServe Ministries, a non-profit organization that runs short-term mission trips in Kentucky and Tennessee. My main job was being in charge of all financial record keeping. All my present and past jobs have challenged me and encouraged me to grow in my communication and leadership skills.
