About Susan V. Murphy

A fervent communicator since my college days, I’ve spent a good deal of my professional life in some form of marketing communications. I’ve worked extensively on the public relations side of the business – promoting consumer products ranging from TV Dinners to sneakers to children’s toys – and have been heavily involved in crisis preparedness and recovery programs. I have also applied many of those same skills as a Realtor, marketing client properties, as well as my own talents, in the real estate field. I took my first steps down this path doing yeoman’s work as a college radio DJ. Since then, I’ve hustled for blue-chip clients as part of the world’s largest PR network, earned my Marketing MBA and, most recently, provided freelance copywriting and editing services to another set of distinguished, global businesses. In between PR/Marketing gigs, I launched my own catering and event-planning company, managed a daily foodservice program within a university environment, and put myself on the front lines of retail. I’ve helped launch new products and execute extraordinarily successful publicity campaigns. I’ve created new business proposals and managed sizeable, wide-ranging budgets. I’ve effectively coordinated strategic planning efforts, handled consumer market research and built crisis communications plans. On my own or as part of a team, I do my homework, with the aim of the best-possible results for the client.
