About Susannah Clary

As a Senior Archeologist at Chronicle Heritage, Clary works alongside other senior staff to produce high-quality deliverables, such as technical reports, and to formulate solutions based on analysis and interpretation of complex data. She also acts as a liaison between clients and other stakeholders, ensuring respect for all relevant viewpoints throughout the duration of the project, such as those of indigenous groups. Clary’s other responsibilities include conducting fieldwork, including on-site monitoring, scoping, recovery, pedestrian survey, and excavation on a variety of projects. Susannah Clary has over 10 years of experience in cultural resource management and over five years of experience in fisheries biology. Her work history includes supervising archaeological field projects, archaeological survey and excavation, artifact curation, report writing, cultural resource data collection, cultural monitoring, biological field collection, advanced laboratory methods, soil flotation, scientific statistics, database entry, habitat restoration, fisheries egg collection, field fauna and flora identification, and river flow monitoring. Clary is also a professional senior right of way agent with seven years of experience completing acquisition and relocation projects in accordance with the Uniform Relocation Assistance and Real Property Acquisition Policies Act of 1970, as amended (the Uniform Act). She is skilled at negotiating with property owners regarding purchase, condemnation, and construction. In addition, she has been the lead relocation agent on over 35 residential, non-residential, landlord, tenant and personal property only displaced property owners, each with diverse and challenging moves. Her experience includes the completion of right of way projects involving New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) oversight, as well as regular communication and coordination with displacees, negotiations for land and easements, and the management of acquisition and relocation files. Clary also has extensive experience in renewable energy projects and has led a team of ROW agents in acquiring over 100 easements for large-scale electric transmission and wind generation projects, over 516 miles.
