About Susannah Denney

Susannah Denney is the Education & Training Director at Saddle Up! in Franklin, TN. She joined Saddle Up! after working for Blackberry Farm's equestrian program for two years. Susannah established the Equest Hooves for Heroes program in 2012 and was the Veterans Program Manager until she relocated back to Tennessee in 2020. She is a PATH International Registered Therapeutic Riding Instructor, Equine Specialist in Mental Health and Learning, and is certified with the National Council for Behavioral Health as a Mental Health First Aid instructor in the Adult, Veteran, First Responders, Older Adults, and Youth modules. Susannah joined Actors’ Equity in 1993, SAG-AFTRA in 1998 and has had a 30-year career in the Entertainment, touring the world in a diverse range of role, including performer, production team member, and manager with such companies as Disney, The Royal Lipizzaner Stallions, MGM Resorts International, and Paramount Pictures. After being affected by our current military conflict, Susannah left the Artistic Management Team of The Beatles’ Love by Cirque du Soleil to join Equest in advocating for veterans, military families, and removing the stigma of mental health issues. Susannah has a demonstrated history of working in the metal health, wellness, equine and entertainment industry. Skilled in Nonprofit Organizations, Theater Management, Event Management, and Volunteer Management. Strong innovative professional with 30 years of Entertainment experience and 7 years in mental health and wellness focusing on military, veterans and their families. Susannah is excited to say she in now working towards a Masters in Social Work.
