About Susannah Dolinar

Susannah Dolinar, is originally from Staten Island, NY, but has lived in the DC area for 7 years. In May 2017, she graduated from the George Washington University with a BA in International Affairs and Conflict Resolution. She continues to study Mandarin Chinese and Spanish outside of the classroom. As a Senior in college, she interned at two non-profits and worked on advocacy campaigns in International Affairs and public policy. After college, Susannah served at Ballou High School with City Year, an AmeriCorps program. Over the past two years, Susannah has volunteered on weekends at a Southern Maryland animal welfare non-profit and continues to provide the organization social media and grant administration support. Susannah is thrilled to have her first professional experience with Urban Teachers DC. Susannah began her career with Urban Teachers DC as an Operations Assistant and in less than a year was promoted to Operations Coordinator. She is now their Manager of Operations and Finance. She is enthusiastic about the Urban Teachers program because she has seen first hand what an Urban Teacher who encourages her students and champions social justice and education equality can do for an urban school and community. She sees access to quality public education as a universal human right and wants to work to ensure under-served members of the global population (the economically disenfranchised, refugees, communities in active conflict, etc.) have a chance to find an educational path and follow it. She is attending American University this fall (2021) to start her Masters in International Peace and Conflict Resolution at the School of International Studies.
