About Susannah Gooch

Over the last decade I have dedicated my skills and energy to work that aligns with my values and interests, and committed to following wherever that path leads. It's exciting and constantly evolving, and there are several common threads running through everything I do. The first is creating community - whether working as a choir director, a primary school teacher, or a project manager, I put healthy human connections at the centre of everything I do, celebrating the power we share when we respect, support, and inspire each other. The second is seeking understanding through education, both for others and for ourselves. We can only create positive, intentional change if we know ourselves, and if we are able to teach, learn from, and share with others. The third is social justice. For me, this means seeking roles that work to mitigate economic and social inequality, however local or global, and ensuring that any work I do is committed to accessibility and inclusion at all levels. The fourth is nature connection, or rather, reconnection. The understanding that we are part of the natural world, not separate from it, is crucial to fixing the problems we face. I'm interested in ventures that work to redress this balance, through rewilding our land and our own relationship with it. The fifth and final thread is HOPE: hope, and the belief that we are at a point of immense opportunity in deciding our future as a species and a planet. I take great pride and find great motivation in knowing that there are so many other people out there, doing so much good. Outside of work you'll find me camping, canoeing, cooking or climbing up a hill.
