As an executive leader within apparel and fashion, I am accustomed to a demanding, fast-paced field. And I love it. I work with my teams to ignite the same passion in their work. Part of working passionately is making sure your values align with company values, vision, and mission. At the beginning of the pandemic, my career took a quick turn. What I gained was the ability to refocus on my family and career goals. I began working within my community by volunteering my time to give back to others. I relaunched my fashion consulting business, and I refreshed my outlook. We successfully transitioned GUESS Kids brand from licensee model to in-house brand. We had a team of 2 based in LA that focused solely on kids. Prior to that, our licensee took care of design, production, inventory control, shipping, etc. Guess moved all of these functions to Lugano, Switzerland. I was responsible for helping streamline systems, communication, processes, international design direction and merchandising. Once our process was a proven success, the other categories followed suit. • Developed push strategies to narrow assortment which resulted in production budget decrease by 25%, improved global alignment and maximized economies of scale. I also helped implement a spreadsheet which calculated GM based off of FOB, duties, freight, etc. We were able to increase Gross Margin by 25% over a 3-year span by seasonal reviews, defining and addressing margin challenges and narrowing down samples which, in turn, decreased sample costs.
