About Sushil Kumar Singla

During last 30 yars, I had the fortune of serving the communities of this great nation, motherland India through my stints in the entire agriculture sector. Sectors including forestry, environment, pollution control board, rural development, agriculture including research, horticulture, animal husbandry, fisheries, water resources etc. Had the opportunity to gain experience in all aspects of governance while working in varied capacities at various levels right from Village to block level, from subdivision to district level and from state to national level. Got enough international exposure through visits to more than 24 countries helped in upgrading my capabilities and skills by interaction with international experts and learning from good practices of these countries. All facets right from project formulation to implementation to monitoring and evaluation with the involvement of local communities, policy formulation at state and national level were covered. Firm believer of decentralized planning, implementation and monitoring of public funded programmes and schemes with the cooperation and involvement of all stakeholders. Wide ranging reforms were brought in during my postings in different roles; be it forestry, be it pollution control and environment, be it agriculture and bee keeping. Coulld create some successful models in forestry development and biodiversity conservation with the active involvement of fringe communities particularly the women folk who are the most vulnerable section of our society badly affected by the forest and environment degradation. Always strive to bring in deregulation and decentralisation wherever possible with central themes of ease of living and improving livelihood particularly the last person in the row. Apart from my engagement with communities, I have deep passion for reading and writing on forestry and environmental issues. Authored few books and presented papers in National and international conferences.
