Mr Sushil Maroo (sushilmaroo@gmail.com) has over 35 years of experience in Strategy, Operations, Mergers and Acquisitions, Project and Corporate Finance. He is presently with BC Jindal group as Director -Semiconductor and other New businesses. He was also associated with Mining Companies in South America for Copper, Lead,Zinc and Tin. He was the Executive Vice Chairman - Strategic Business, Essar Group. Before he worked as MD and CEO of Essar Power Ltd for about 2.5 years Earlier, He was the CEO of Essar Energy Plc.(UK based Co, with revenue of approx USD 25 billion )from September 2013 to July 2014 till the delisting of the company. Before Essar, Mr Maroo worked with Jindal Steel and Power Ltd as Deputy Managing Director and also as Group CFO. He interacted intensively with all stake holders and helped JSPL to become 2nd Largest Wealth Creator( approx USD 15 billion market Cap )in the World(BCG report).He also worked as a Deputy Managing Director of Jindal Power Limited.Mr Maroo’s experience includes illustrious tenures with other large corporates including Hindustan Lever, Voltas Limited (Tata Group), Nippon Dendro Ispat Limited (Mittal Group), Chambal Fertilizers & Chemicals Limited (Birla Group) and RPG Dholpur Power Co. Ltd (RP Goenka Group). He played a critical role in the financial planning and financial closure of a 3,400MW thermal power project as well as leading the expansion of Steel,Power and Mining businesses for major conglomerates.He worked on for JSPL 's entry into Oil & Gas exploration business and acquisition of seven Oil & Gas blocks, five of which were in the Republic of Georgia. He also supervised Information Technology ventures and Real Estate Business. Mr Maroo is a founder Chairman of the Indo-Georgian Chamber of Commerce and worked as member of several leading Indian industry associations. He is the Executive Committee member of Assocham and has been associated with FICCI and CII for many years. He is a well-known speaker at many conferences in India and overseas and has been a leading panellist in several industry discussions. He plays tennis and has interest in meditation.
