About Susie E.
Originally from Southern California, I began my professional journey volunteering with the Fred Jordan Mission for a summer camp serving high-risk youth from inner Los Angeles. What began as a summer opportunity to be outside of the home turned into a passion and the foundation of the work I do now! While in California, I worked in an early childhood inclusive classroom, as a nanny, and as a team member in an out-of-school time program. My work with New Directions for Youth in North Hollywood left a lasting imprint on my personal and professional life. My students, mentors, and coworkers taught me valuable lessons. I am passionate about spaces that develop action plans for change while also being surrounded by colleagues with thought-provoking concepts. I am currently working on completing my Ph.D. program in Education Leadership and Policy.
