About Susie Flaherty

I've worked in higher education writing and editing, in all aspects from writing scientific research articles to myriad presidential communications to copy editing books and catalogs and everything in between. I've supervised editors and writers and collaborated closely with designers and photographers to produce award-winning articles, magazines and publications. At Massachusetts General Hospital, I work with renowned celiac disease expert Alessio Fasano, MD and his clinical and research team at MassGeneral Hospital for Children in various initiatives, including the Harvard Medical School Celiac Research Program, in partnership with Boston Children's Hospital and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. As a lifelong student, I recently graduated from Lesley University with a Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling; specialization in art and music therapy coursework. I've had the privilege of working with people using these powerful modalities and will continue to do this work. I also developed a course that I taught at Common Ground on the Hill at McDaniel College in Westminster MD to tap into creativity. I enjoy singing and songwriting and "play out" when I can.
