About Susmita Paul

Susmita Paul joined KPMG Ireland in March 2025 as a Consultant. She holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree (NQF – 8 & Grade – 1:1) from India and a Master's degree in Urban and Regional Planning (NQF – 9 & Grade – 1:1). Susmita has 4 years of professional experience as an urban and transport infrastructure planner in India. Her technical expertise includes proficiency in software such as AutoCAD, Q-GIS, Arc-GIS, ERDAS Imagine, and advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Power BI, MATLAB, Julia, R-Studio, Adobe Suites, Lumion, Google Earth, and Google Sketchup. She has second master's degree in Sustainable Finance from UCD Smurfit Graduate Business School in Dublin, Ireland. Her this master's program focused on core modules including Sustainable Finance and Impact Investment, Renewable Energy Finance, Energy Economics and Policy, Portfolio and Risk Management, and Climate Change & Business Sustainability. She has received various scholarship and academic awards during her academic career in India and Ireland. She holds publications of reports and book chapters. Prior to joining KPMG, Susmita worked as an Urban Planner, Transport Modeller & Technical Consultant on various infrastructure projects in Ireland and India. She provided critical technical insights, developed multi-criteria analysis tools, coordinated GIS and MIS for data analysis and map preparation, and contributed to land use planning, regulatory compliance, and government approvals. Susmita also served as a Research Associate - Urban Planner for the Preparation of Zonal Development Plan (ZDP) for Patna Metropolitan Area (PMA) and the Pilot Area Development Scheme for PMA. Her responsibilities included engaging in survey design and implementation, database management, technical report preparation, GIS-based spatial data analysis, stakeholder engagement, community collaboration, project monitoring, capacity building, and financial and regulatory expertise. She has been actively involved in international projects through young professional programs, various internships and research projects since 2017.
