About Sutton Thomas

For me, optical engineering isn't just an excellent career choice, it's an opportunity to do meaningful work in the field of electronics and astronomy that will change the world. During my time in the the engineering program at the University of Arizona, I have learned a great amount about team collaboration and the overall engineering process, as well as practical design applications and computer skills. I'm always looking ahead; I am currently training to do research in the Large Optics Fabrication and Testing (LOFT) group at UA's industry leading optics lab. This research group does groundbreaking work in the field of optical fabrication, metrology, astronomy, and engineering. I also look forward to interning with companies that work in the astronomy, electronics, or aerospace and defense fields. I have much to learn in my upcoming coursework, but I'm confident that my amazing engineering professors will set me up for success in my future research and industry endeavors.
