About Suzanne Barkman

I strive in creating and maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment where students feel welcomed, supported, and equipped with the tools needed for their success. Having the experience of owner operator of my own ballet school in Ireland as well as teaching in dance studios across the GTA, it has given me vast opportunities to work alongside support staff and peers, school and corporate administrators, and student families, as well as preparing students for dance accredited examinations under the Royal Academy of Dance and choreography for recitals and school performances. My background and experience in dance and ballet has given me the opportunity to pass on my teaching expertise through setting up in-school Dance Clubs, School Musicals as well as coordinating social justice initiative programs. Founder of BodyFirm Barre - a ballet-Pilates inspired fitness workout which led to the role of becoming a Master Trainer and Creator of the Teacher Certification Training Course in one of the original barre fitness studios in Oakville.
