I am a collaborative, service oriented higher education professional with experience as an- Academic Librarian - Faculty Developer - ESOL Instructor Academic Librarian - Teach information literacy to students from a variety of disciplines, liaison to science, English, and World Language faculty, and provide research help to students in-person and online. Completed the Creative Commons Certificate for Librarians in 2023. Faculty Developer - Have facilitated 40+ in-person and online workshops for community college faculty about information literacy and teaching/learning. Worked for 2 years as a faculty fellow in a community college faculty development center. Web Services Librarian - Lead the Library web team. Have designed and redesigned websites, conducted usability testing, trained librarians in writing for the web, and am committed to continuous improvement through feedback. Leadership/Service - Have served in leadership roles in professional organizations such as ACRL’s Community College Section and Instructional Technologies Committee, and the Michigan virtual reference collaborative, Research Help Now. ESL Instructor/Cross-Cultural Skills - Have taught ESL to immigrants and refugees in the US, college students in Indonesia, and graduate students in the US. Taught English in Indonesia for 2 years through Volunteers in Asia. Attended elementary and high school in Indonesia, Australia, and Zimbabwe.
