About Suzanne Cloud
I'm a writer, a teacher, a musician, a nonprofit administrator and grant-writer, and currently, project director for the Philadelphia Jazz Legacy Project, dedicated to the establishment of a permanent jazz archive. Backstory: After many years as a working jazz musician, I went back to school and got my doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania in American Studies. My focus of study? The Philly jazz community, of course. I stepped down as the executive director of Jazz Bridge in June 2018, an organization I founded with singer Wendy Simon 14 years ago. We went to work, building an organization that would serve as a safety net for the musicians and singers who have chosen such a difficult path to self-fulfillment. Luckily, it's been an award winning success. I have taught undergraduate courses in American History at Temple University, Rowan University, The College of New Jersey, and Thomas Edison State University.
