About Suzanne Hansen

Let's embrace water; everyone can do more! I work as head of partnerships of an innovative datascience programme called Computational Social Sciece and I co-lead a national initiative to do more for water: water-scarcity, waterquality and water re-use I'am a connector, a project lead and I get energy out working with students, startups, knowledge institutes, scientists & corporate & public companies. I also love to create meaningful learning spaces at campus locations & Science Parks and learn from impact driven entrepreneurs. One of the most cool experiences in my professional career was building Startup Village at the Adam science Park, in a small team with the director of ACE Incubator and shareholder UVA Ventures. It’s an honour to create inspiring learning spaces & offices space for promising startups, contribute to a vibrant startup ecosystem and work within a community of talented students, entrepreneurs, scientists and mentors at the Adam Science Park. I'am also proud of building a pre incubation programma in AI, as a co lead, together with Jorgen Sandig: ‘AI Startup Lab’, an initiative by university incubator ACE. My role was to enable corporate collaborations and inspire tech and AI students to prototype and build a beta version of an AI driven company. In 2021 I worked at the Leiden Bio Science Park, supporting Biopartner in realising inspiring spaces for startups in life sciences & health. My focus was to develop a startup area in the first 'Paris Proof' circular lab building Biopartner 5, designed by Popma Ter Steege architects. Leiden was at that time the European City of Science. It has an outstanding ecosystem in biotech in Europe. I have met many inspiring scientists building companies to improve health. That's why I produced, together with historian Cor Smit, a dutch spoken podcast named:'Pionieren in de Polder'. Impact is key for the UvA. Since march 2022 I’am working as head of partnerships for the innovative bachelor Computational Social Science together with professor Eelke Heemskerk and a great team of academics. We won in oktober 2024 the UvA award for Collaborative Learning. We are based at the Roeterseiland campus in Adam.
