About Suzanne Huhta

Suzanne Huhta, P.E, is the co-owner and principal engineer for OneFish Engineering, LLC, a firm that specializes in fish passage engineering and hydraulic measurement/modeling. Suzanne began her fish passage career working for the state of Oregon, and has designed or reviewed scores of fish passage and fish screening projects. Suzanne founded OneFish Engineering, LLC, in 2009. She has spent the last ten years working in the Mountain West region and has become familiar with the unique requirements of the resident species in this area, which have largely been overlooked by the larger fish passage community. She stays up to date on the latest improvements, tools and research within the industry; she has expanded on and updated the skills she acquired in the Northwest and adapted them to the Mountain West region. She has experience in all phases of fish passage engineering including evaluation of existing conditions, alternatives analysis, passage design, field evaluation and construction management. She has been exposed the widest variety of methods and technologies, and understands the strengths and weakness of each. She possesses a unique ability to understand the needs of and communicate the options to all stakeholders including biologists, state and federal agencies, irrigators, power companies, municipalities, and non-profit organizations.
