About Suzanne Lemstra

I enjoy scientific discussions, creating new opportunities and building/maintaining relationships. I am a keen problem solver with a competitive and pragmatic approach. New challenges and opportunities that enhance my skills and develop my expertise highly motivate me. Currently I'm obtaining my PhD in translational neuroscience (defence fall 2019). My thesis focussed on brain development. Via various ex vivo and in vivo models I explored the roles of these proteins in neurons. In addition, I fulfilled numerous representative functions in department business management meetings, education committee and PhD candidate platform. My strengths are- Communication; providing concise relevant information through discussions, reports and presentations to a range of different audiences- Organisational skills; I enjoy motivating people for a shared cause and arranging new initiatives- Management; coordinating complex scientific projects in parallel by efficient planning and maintaining an overview- Analytical/critical mind; creating new hypothesis and protocols in a range of areas varying from science, education and business.
