Background

About Suzanne Loen

I am a landscape consultant working on research, designs and strategies for sustainable healthy cities and landscapes in various inspiring collaborations. I have a special focus and expertise in co-creative green healthy city development and (re-)creating value for sensitive cultural and heritage landscapes, their water systems and ecology. Currently I am working on a research into the transformation of polluted Indonesian factory towns (so called industrial kampongs) by connecting ecology and economy. During this research I started a paralel investigation 'Thirsty Cities'. Here I am looking for (historical and modern) sustainable solutions and strategies to tackle the immens strain on our fresh water resources due to ongoing urbanisation, industrialisation and today's agricultural practices. I enjoy teaching and writing on sustainable urban and landscape development and the preservation of cultural heritage landscapes. I am enthusiastic, committed and determined to help preserve and built beautiful and healthy cities and landscapes for both people, plants and animals alike.
