About Suzanne Maynard

As Senior Employability and Placements Manager at Leeds University, I oversee the employability strategy in the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences. My role involves coordinating my award winning team to attain positive graduate outcomes for our graduates by designing interventions both within and external to the curriculum. I am an experienced project manager overseeing the creation of embedded and accredited relevant work experience for our MSc programmes in EPS. As former Chair of the national AGCAS Work Related Learning Task Group, I have been a leading voice in all things experiential learning across the UK HE sector. Writing business plans with three year forecasts, managing annual budgets and income generating were core parts of this role alongside contributing to national research and government white paper feedback. In both my current role and previous ones Business Development is key. I specialise in international employability and outward mobility of UK students carrying out research into overseas and UK labour market needs and leading in creation of overseas employability strategies and operational plans. At Leeds I have worked in overseas markets including at conversion events as well as TNE development meetings in China. I am a qualified Careers Guidance practitioner and I have previously won Mentor of the Year at the University of Leeds for my guidance with students. As a Careers Consultant annual statistics showed that I had the highest number of successful graduates into graduate level employment at the University. I am a confident presenter and performer as evidenced through my work history. I have presented multiple times at the AGCAS National Conference, receiving excellent feedback each time.
