About Suzanne Merkus
My research interests in occupational health include sick leave, musculoskeletal pain, stress and fatigue; and how physical and psychosocial work factors, shift work, and recovery may influence these health outcomes. I have a PhD in Occupational Health, and an MSc in Epidemiology as well as an MSc in Human Movement Sciences. I have excellent research and time-management skills, and experience with longitudinal and multilevel data analysis. I have effective cross-cultural communication skills through my extensive experience in international collaboration. Through my international upbringing, I some day hope to apply my knowledge of occupational health to improve working conditions in developing countries.
