About Suzanne Spinola

Dr. Spinola is a clinical psychologist who received generalist training in clinical psychology and further specialized in substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders. She holds certifications in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Substance Use Disorders and Cognitive Processing Therapy and is licensed in the state of New York and Connecticut. She also serves as a national consultant for Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Substance Use Disorders in the Office of Mental Health and Suicide Prevention at VHA. She is currently the assistant director of the Psychosocial Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program at VA Connecticut Healthcare System-West Haven Campus, an 18-bed residential facility staffed by an interdisciplinary team, including psychologists, psychologists, peers, social workers, addiction therapists, and nurses. Her expertise is in program development, curriculum design, supervision, psychotherapy, and administrative work.
